- Rowing and Golf.
He was very interested in rowing from a young man, and I remember many years of us going to seeing the rowing championships on Lake Waihola.
Jack was also very keen on playing golf. He was a left hander and used to carry his clubs with him wherever he went. When he was an Inspector in the PO, the PO he was going to visit used to know that he was coming, as the golf clubs always arrived first.
He obtained lots of tropheys over the years and also had a Hole in One in Jan 1974.
