  	Motor-Cycle Tragedy on Chatham Island Noel Arthur Dockery, aged 30, a teacher, was killed in a motor-cycle accident on Chatham Island on Saturday afternoon. Mr Dockery was a Wellington man, and formerly taught at Kaiwharawhara school. He had been teaching in the Chatham Islands for about a year. He is survived by his widow, who is also a teacher on Chatham Island. Tribute to Teacher A high tribute to Mr N A Dockery, who was killed in a motor-cycle accident in the Chatham Islands on Saturday, was paid by Professor C L Barley, professor of education at Victoria University College. "I think all connected with the training of teachers in Wellington would agree that, entering teaching as he did through the emergency training scheme, he was the finest recruit to teaching in their experieence," Professor Bailey said. "It was his first permanent job yet his work had already received the highest praise from the education authorities. It was characteristic of him that he was particularly concerned with helping Chatham Island boys to prepare themselves for more scientific farming, and had succeeded in securing a place for a boy in Flock House. How appropriate it would be if the Chatham Island people and the Government commemorated his service to them by establishing a bursary named after him".
